The Fall of Chicago was the first major Engagements on Earth followed by the Invasion of New York that occured about 3 days later during the battle, after the Universal Generation Diversionary first broke through the U.E.R orbital defenses near the moon, marking the beginning of the Universal Generation Invasion of the human home world during the Galactic War.
The Fall of Chicago allowed the Universal Generation entry onto the planet surface, where the war would eventually spread throughout the rest of the Human Homeworld by August of 2165.
After Chicago's occupation, the Universal Generation used the entire city as a staging area for Invasion, until other sectors on the planet were be conquered weeks later that same month in July.
Chicago would also be destroyed and reterraformed by the Universal Generation as well in the following years while under their occupation.
